Restorative Dentistry in Carson City, NV

Restorative dentistry is all about repairing and rebuilding your teeth when they’ve been damaged by cavities, injury, or wear. If a tooth breaks, gets decayed, or goes missing, restorative treatments help bring back your smile’s function, health, and appearance.

Restorative Dentistry Process

  1. Exam and plan

Your dentist will complete your exam and diagnose your dental issue. Most dental issues have many treatment options. Together we will come up with a tailored treatment plan factoring in your lifestyle, budget, and needs.

2. Preparing the damaged tooth

Your dentist will trim your tooth to remove the decay and damaged areas of your tooth to which a restorative material can be placed.

3. Restoring the tooth

If you are getting a filling, your dentist will place a composite resin (tooth colored) filling to repair the cavity.

If you are getting a crown, your dentist will take a 3D digital impression of your tooth. We send these images to our trustworthy dental lab, where your crown will be made out of high quality porcelain or ceramic material. A temporary crown will be placed in the meantime until the permanent crown is made.

4. Final adjustments

Your dentist will make any final adjustments to the filling or crown to check its fit to your comfort. The crown or filling will be cemented in place and polished seamlessly to your new smile.
