Is nitrous oxide safe?
Yes, nitrous oxide (laughing gas) has been used safely since the late 1800s! It is also referred to as inhalation sedation because it is administered through a small mask over the nose. Nitrous oxide is great for kids because it’s mild and there are no lingering effects after treatment.
Many kids don’t like visiting the dentist and it may be hard for them to sit still in the dental chair. Nitrous oxide calms them enough so they can get the safe, efficient care they need. With the help of nitrous oxide, all our little patients need to do is sit back, relax, and watch cartoons while we provide comfortable dental care. They’ll leave our office with a happy, healthy smile and little memory of what happened during their visit.
We combine inhalation sedation with good old-fashioned gentle care, so you know your child will be comfortable and well cared for. Keeping your child happy is our first priority, and we’ll make sure that their dental visits are fun, no matter what procedure they’re having done.
If you have other questions about nitrous oxide or would like to schedule a convenient appointment, please call our Carson City dental office. You’ll be amazed at how easy and fun your child’s dental visits can be!
